Fall Field Day

NYC Parks presents the first-ever Fall Field Day on Election Day (as there is no school).
Head to Highbridge Park at West 172nd Street and Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan for a day of fun and games. Children, teens, and their families are invited to relive classic and nostalgic field day activities as they are introduced to a new generation. The day will offer an array of activities fit for all ages and abilities. The event will feature: javelin (noodle) throw; bubble soccer; giant soccer; Pillow Polo; obstacle courses, hand cycling and much more. There will be live entertainment at the main stage, including two performances by the Big Apple Circus. In celebration of Election Day, there will be an old voting booth where all can pretend to vote and take selfies. Snoopy from the Peanuts Movie will also be in attendance.

New York Youth Symphony Community Concert
Sunday, November 8
4:30 p.m. doors; 5 p.m. concert
For the second year, the New York Youth Symphony will perform a free community concert at the Palace as a run-up to its Carnegie Hall performance. The Symphony’s 53rd season opens with classic folklore, including Strauss’s Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks and Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite. The Roy and Shirley Durst Debut Artist Gabriel Cabezas performs the world premiere of Lost Coast. Gershwin’s An American in Paris – a lively musical depiction of noisy streets and French cafes – closes the program.

Parques NYC presenta el primer Día de Juegos de Otoño el Día de las Elecciones (no hay escuela).
Vaya al Parque Highbridge en el Oeste de la Calle 172 y la Avenida Amsterdam en Manhattan para un día de diversión y juegos. Niños, adolescentes y sus familias están invitados a revivir lo clásico y la nostalgia de las actividades del día de juegos mientras son introducidas a una nueva generación. El día ofrecerá una amplia variedad adecuadas para todas las edades y habilidades. El evento presentará:
Lanzada de jabalina, balompié ‘bubble’, balompié ‘giant’, Polo Pillow, campo de obstáculos, ciclismo de mano y mucho más. Habrá entretenimiento en vivo en el escenario principal, incluyendo dos presentaciones del Circo de la Gran Manzana. En celebración del Día de las Elecciones, tendremos una vieja caseta de votación donde los niños y las familias pueden pretender votar y tomarse fotos.

Concierto comunal de la Sinfonía de Jóvenes de Nueva York

Por segundo año la Sinfonía de Jóvenes de Nueva York presentará un concierto comunal gratuito en el ‘Palace’ como un previo periodo a su presentación en el Carnegie Hall. La temporada 53 de la Sinfonía abre con folklore clásico, incluyendo el travieso de Strauss “Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks” y “Mother Goose Suite” de Ravel. Gabriel Cabezas presenta la premier mundial “Lost Coast”. Gershwin’s “An American in Paris” – una vivida representación musical de ruidosas calles y cafés franceses – cierra el programa.
