ABOUT US

The award-winning Manhattan Times is the bilingual community newspaper serving all the communities of northern Manhattan, including Hamilton Heights; East, Central and West Harlem; Washington Heights and Inwood and Marble Hill.
Founded in 1999 by Luis Miranda, Roberto Ramirez, and David Keisman, the Manhattan Times covers local news and events that the dailies don’t. From community boards to precincts, politics to culture, schools to senior centers, we provide editorial and photographic coverage of Northern Manhattan. The sections of each edition reflect the interests of the community, from education and politics to arts and dining. We have also proactively helped build the community through events, such as co-founding the Uptown Arts Stroll in 2003, which has turned into a month-long arts festival in Washington Heights and Inwood during the month of June.
The paper serves as a forum for community issues and maintains relationships with local civic organizations, individual community leaders and elected officials, schools, houses of worship, and advertisers.
We are the primary bridge between the diverse language, ethnic, and religious communities of Northern Manhattan.
