Hundreds of Little Leaguers, family members, police officers and residents were on hand for the kick-off of the Police Officer Michael Buczek Little League season this past Sat., Apr.26th.
The event began with a parade at Police Officer Michael J. Buczek – PS 48, led by a marching band to the Michael John Buczek Ball Field on Amsterdam and Fort George Avenues in HighBridgePark.
Beaming children in uniforms marched alongside police officers and family members down St. Nicholas Avenue with colorful banners.
Assemblymember Gabriela Rosa was also in attendance for the day’s events, as were
former Buczek Little Leaguers and current NYPD officers Carlos Peralta and Carlos Delrosario.
The Little League was named after fallen 34th Precinct Police Officer Michael Buczek, killed in the line of duty over 25 years ago.

Cientos de chicos de las pequeñas ligas, familiares, agentes de policía y residentes estuvieron presentes para el saque inicial de la temporada de la pequeña liga oficial policía Michael Buczek el pasado sábado 26 de abril.
El evento comenzó con un desfile en la escuela PS 48 oficial de policía Michael J. Buczek, dirigido por una banda de música al campo Michael John Buczek en las avenidas Ámsterdam y Fort George, en High Bridge Park.
Los niños en uniforme marcharon por la avenida St. Nicholas con banderas de colores, junto a agentes de policía y familiares.
La asambleísta Gabriela Rosa también estuvo presente durante los eventos del día, al igual que los ex miembros de la pequeña liga Buczek y actuales oficiales del Departamento de Policía de la ciudad de Nueva York, Carlos Peralta y Carlos Delrosario.
La pequeña liga fue nombrada en honor al oficial caído del precinto 34 Michael Buczek, muerto en acto de servicio hace más de 25 años.
