American Mothers Inc.® is now accepting nominations for 2016 Mother of the Year® and Mother of Achievement for all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The public is invited to nominate their favorite “mom” through November 15 at http://www.americanmothers.org/nomination-form.
American Mothers Inc. ® is celebrating its 81st year of nationally honoring motherhood and educating on issues impacting mothers and children. American Mothers recognizes the contributions and commitment to family and community that moms exhibit on a daily basis.
A Mother of the Year nominee should be any mother of one or more children, who is amazing in her role as “mom”. A nominee for Mother of Achievement should be an individual who has made a significant contribution to improve the lives of mothers and children in her community and/or the nation but she does not need to have children to qualify.
“Every year we are amazed by the passion our nominees have for being a mother and improving the lives of those around them,” says Dianne Callister, President of American Mothers. “It’s inspiring to see so many women who embody the selfless, caring spirit of motherhood and who are using that maternal energy to make the world a better place.”
The honorees from each state will serve as ambassadors for mothers across the country and will be recognized at an annual national conference in Washington DC in April 2016, where a National Mother of the Year will be named.
American Mothers was founded in 1935 by Sara Delano Roosevelt, JC Penney and Norman Vincent Peale. It is the official sponsor of Mother’s Day and has named the National Mother of the Year® annually since its inception. American Mothers works around the globe to find solutions to issues facing mothers, including hunger, lack of medical care, and domestic violence.

Madres Americanas, Inc. está celebrando su aniversario 81 de honrar nacionalmente la maternidad y educando en asuntos impactando madres y niños. Madres Americanas reconoce las contribuciones y compromiso a la familia y la comunidad que las madres exhiben diariamente.
Una nominada para Madre del Año debe de ser la madre de uno o más niños, quien es increíble en su rol de madre. Una nominada para Madre de Logros debe de ser un individuo que ha hecho una significativa contribución para mejorar las vidas de madres y mujeres en su comunidad y/o la nación pero no tiene que tener niños para cualificar.
“Cada año nos sorprende la pasión que nuestras nominadas tienen de ser madres y mejorar la vida de aquellos a su alrededor”, dice Dianne Callister, presidenta de Madres Americanas. “Es inspirador ver tantas mujeres que encarnan el espíritu bondadoso y desinteresado de la maternidad y quienes están utilizando esa energía maternal para hacer del mundo uno mejor”.
Los ganadores de cada estado servirán como embajadoras de las madres a través del país y serán reconocidas en una conferencia nacional anual en Washington DC en abril del 2016, donde se elegirá una Madre Nacional del Año.
