Information sought on shooting death
Jorge Rodríguez was killed this weekend.Police are asking anyone with information about the recent Inwood shooting to come forward.
Jorge Rodríguez, 19, was shot in the head at approximately 3:05 am Saturday, September 1. The teen was standing on the corner of Academy Street and Post Avenue, celebrating a friend’s birthday with several other people when shots were fired.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly thereafter.
Police say that six men were spotted on a surveillance video, and one with a gun allegedly shot the victim. The teen leaves behind a one-year-old daughter, six siblings and other family members. No arrests have been made.

Jorge Rodríguez, de 19 años, recibió un disparo en la cabeza aproximadamente a las 3:05 a.m. del sábado 1º de septiembre. El adolescente estaba de pie en la esquina de la calle Academy y la avenida Post, celebrando el cumpleaños de un amigo con otras personas, cuando se hicieron disparos.
Fue declarado muerto en el hospital poco después.
La policía dice que seis hombres fueron vistos en un video de vigilancia, y uno con un arma supuestamente disparó a la víctima. El adolescente deja a una hija de un año, seis hermanos y otros familiares. No se han hecho arrestos.
