While many might argue that a stroll down any one of the streets of northern Manhattan constitutes being part of a beauty pageant, this past Fri., Apr. 25th brought out a bevy of official contestants vying for the title of Miss Latina 2012.
The 15 participants, all dressed in white, strolled down a small outdoor catwalk erected just for the occasion on Post Avenue at the new Tetté Night Club, observed by an appreciative audience of family and friends.
“Walking down the runway feels amazing,” said Jennifer Stacks, who was tagged as “Contestant No.5”. “I felt my confidence come out.”
Despite her surefootedness, she admitted to having a few jitters.
“It’s a little nerve racking,” she added.
“But as soon as I start walking, I just imagine being by myself and I have fun.”
