From the Dyckman Houses to Dyckman Street and points north to the end of Inwood, neighborhood residents stand in solidarity with the 300 girls abducted from their boarding school in Nigeria by the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
“They’re our girls,” said one woman from the Dyckman Houses, a public housing complex on the far east side of Inwood. “They’re everyone’s girls.”
Arlene Schulman is a writer, editor, journalist, photographer, filmmaker, and teacher. Her published books include the award-winning The Prizefighters: An Intimate Look at Champions and Contenders; 23rd Precinct: The Job; and Cop on the Beat. Born in the Bronx and raised in Brooklyn and Long Island, she currently resides in Inwood.

Desde las casas Dyckman a la calle Dyckman y puntos al norte hasta el final de Inwood, los residentes del vecindario están en solidaridad con las 300 niñas secuestradas de su escuela en Nigeria por el grupo militante islamista Boko Haram.
