Celebrate the 15th Annual Drums Along the Hudson at Inwood Hill Park on Sun., Jun. 4th from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The event will feature Native American, Japanese, Brazilian, Flamenco, and Korean drummers and dancers from around the world. The festival combines a celebration of Native American heritage, culture and art with the diversity of New York City. The host of cultures will be celebrated through food, music, and dancing. Other activities include a Tree of Peace planting, Native American storytelling, a Pow Wow, crafts and visits from Captain Planet. The event will take place at 218th Street and Indian Road. Yellow Barn Music Haul is playing at Sugar Hill Children’s Museum on Thurs., Jun. 1st from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. The group is a product of Yellow Barn, an international center for chamber music based in Vermont that generates an international, multi-generational troupe of musicians. The renovated U-Haul truck is a self-contained, traveling concert venue for as many as six musicians. The museum is located at 898 Saint Nicholas Avenue and 155th Street. Learn to produce your own television show with Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) starting Tues., May 30th through Thurs., Jun. 15th from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The intermediate-level, hands-on course will explore phases of production, location preparation, portable HD camera operation, composition, field audio and lighting basics.
