Health fair celebrated at Riverbank

Nearly 800 community members attended City Councilmember Mark Levine’s fourth annual Community Health Fair, held on May 20 at Riverbank State Park in Harlem. The fair, conducted in partnership with local community organizations and city agencies, featured the giveaway of nearly 700 bike helmets by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to help promote the city’s Vision Zero initiative. Also, nearly 100 families received free smoke detectors courtesy of the FDNY, and dozens of free health exams were conducted through partnerships with New York-Presbyterian Ambulatory Care Network, American-Italian Cancer Foundation, WellCare and Mount Sinai Hospital. Performances and demonstrations were also conducted by Urban Yoga, Dances for a Variable Population and local cultural organization Mano Mano. Casi 800 miembros de la comunidad asistieron a la Cuarta Feria Anual de Salud Comunitaria del concejal Mark Levine, que se llevó a cabo el 20 de mayo en el Riverbank State Park de Harlem.
