Discover the history of chocolate.

Learn more about the aphrodisiac food that is chocolate at Morris-Jumel Mansion on Sat., Feb. 13th  from 2 – 4 p.m. Morris-Jumel Mansion’s Executive Director Carol Ward and Assistant Curator Kelsey Brow will discuss all things chocolate, from the history of its consumption to the ways we continue to see chocolate as a symbol of love. A chocolate tasting will be included. Morris-Jumel Mansion is located at 65 Jumel Terrace.

Visit the Museum of the City of New York on Sun., Feb. 14th from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. for a bejeweled journey back to the life of New York’s 19th century elite in the exhibition Gilded New York. Participants will view antique jewelry from this time period and create their own bedazzled greeting card to share with a loved one. The Museum of the City of New York is located at 1220 Fifth Avenue.

Fall in Love with Fitness


Fall in love with fitness at J. Hood Wright Park on Sat., Feb. 13th from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Fitness forward singles and couples will meet at the J. Hood Wright Recreation Center for a fun filled day of classes, as the fitness room will be open for a variety of events. The schedule of fitness activities will be as follows:

  • Chair Aerobics – 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Dance Fitness – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Cardio Blast Fitness – 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m
  • Dance & Sculpt – 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Yoga – 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  1. Hood Wright Park is located at 351 Fort Washington Avenue (at 175th Street).
