Washington Heights Neighborhood Transportation Study wants you.
The NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) invites all who live, work, and play in Northern Manhattan to be a part of the Washington Heights Neighborhood Transportation Study, an in-depth effort to improve safety, mobility, and quality of life in the area between W. 155th and W. 182nd Streets. Help improve the neighborhood’s streets and contribute your local knowledge. Tell DOT about transportation issues that matter to you. From pedestrian safety to traffic to bus reliability to parking and deliveries: if it involves streets, DOT wants to know. Use the interactive feedback map at http://bit.ly/1VSgOGw to share your concerns and ideas about transportation in Washington Heights.The deadline to postmark Absentee Ballot Request is April 12th.
Voters who will not be in New York on April 19th, or who have limited mobility and his or her polling site has been moved to a place that is geographically inaccessible (this applies to many elderly people in the Cabrini/Pinehurst/Ft. Washington area), an absentee ballot can be requested. Please call the Board of Elections at 866.868.3692, download an application at http://bit.ly/1oQPhIf or go to the Board of Elections at 200 Varick Street.You can celebrate Earth Day with the Friends Committee of the Fort Tryon Park Trust.
For this beautification project on Sun., Apr. 17th from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m., please wear long pants and sturdy shoes. Please note all volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Any groups must preregister by emailing info@FortTryonParkTrust.org. Visit the Committee’s volunteer and information table at the entrance to the park to sign up. All tools and work gloves are supplied. Stay for refreshments afterward. El Departamento de Transportación de NYC (DOT, por sus siglas en inglés), invita todo el que viva, trabaje y juegue en el Norte de Manhattan para que sea parte del Estudio de Transportación del Vecindario de Washington Heights, un profundo esfuerzo para mejorar la seguridad, movilidad y calidad de vida en el área entre el oeste de las Calles 155 y 182.
