ANDREW GEDDIS READS “THE OBAMATRON”, HIS POLITICAL SCI-FI HORROR STORY, AND ORIGINAL POETRY
Andrew Geddis, classical guitarist and founder of Musica Elysii, Inc., gives a dramatic reading of his first short story, “The Obamatron”, a political sci-fi horror story that promises to be a thought provoking and memorable event. He also has a growing supply of original poetry that he wishes to share with his audience, being previously published by American Poetry Association and National Library of Poetry.
Andrew Geddis, guitarrista clásico y fundador de Musica Elysii, Inc., presentará una lectura dramatizada de su primer cuento, “El Obamatron”, una historia política de ciencia-ficción y terror que promete ser un evento estimulante e inolvidable. También tiene una oferta creciente de poesía original que desea compartir con su público, habiendo sido previamente publicado por la Asociación Americana de Poesía y la Biblioteca Nacional de Poesía.

MEDITATION WORKSHOP
1–3pm: Guita Ranjibaran, along with a Spanish speaking partner, will conduct a meditation session, and teach interested audience members how to achieve thoughtless awareness, achieve inner peace, and increase creativity.
Guita Ranjibaran junto con un compañero que habla español llevará a cabo una sesión de meditación, y le enseñará a interesados miembros del público cómo lograr la conciencia sin pensamientos, alcanzar la paz interior y aumentar la creatividad.

7-9pm: Hosted by Eric Vetter, No Name is a “workout show,” wherein talented performers are encouraged to play and try out new comedic or storytelling material. The audience is invited to hang out afterward to share feedback, shoot the breeze, and get on the mic themselves.
Organizada por Eric Vetter, No Name es un “show de entrenamiento,” en el cuál se invitan artistas talentosos a jugar y estrenar su nueva materia cómica o narración de cuentos. También se invita al público a que permanezca después del programa para compartir sus opiniones, darle a la lengua, y tomar ellos mismos el micrófono.

SPANISH LANGUAGE READING & CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP | TALER DE LECTURA Y ESCRITURA CREATIVA EN ESPAÑOL
5-7pm: Every week, we read different short forms in Spanish from Latin America and the rest of the world—anything from fiction, to nonfiction, to poetry—and practice working with texts. We will stimulate the writing process using prompts and fun exercises, often based on our readings of the text, and share our work as a group. The workshop is led by a native Spanish speaker and a native English speaker, and so is open to Spanish speakers of all levels.
Cada semana leeremos relatos y poesías de autores latinoamericanos y del resto del mundo. Se harán propuestas de escritura y juegos para animarse a escribir. Para aquellas personas a las que les gusta leer y escribir, y también para quienes nunca escribieron pero quisieran comenzar. En cada encuentro, vamos a compartir lo escrito y a aprender a trabajar los textos. El taller es codirigido por una hablante nativa de español y una hablante nativa de inglés. Invitamos a hispanohablantes de todos niveles a participar.
