Fighting Childhood Obesity

Moving into its third year of existence here in New York City, CATCH Healthy Habits paired teams of volunteers age 50 and over, with kids in grades K-5 to teach them fun and constructive ways to be active and healthy.

This March, after serving communities in The Bronx, the inter-generational program will be coming to the Washington Heights YM& YWHA in conjunction with The Y’s After School Program.

CATCH Healthy Habits is seeking volunteers who are 50 or better to help lead classes that combine healthy snacks, nutrition lessons and fun physical activities.

Complete training will be provided. There are lots of ways people can help!

CATCH Healthy Habits will begin on Fridays in March, 2013 from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.

CATCH Healthy Habits is sponsored by the Oasis Institute as well as a grant from the WellPoint Foundation and local funding by Empire BlueCross BlueShield.
