Months of planning finally paid off on April 1 when volunteers canvassed over 50 high traffic subway stations throughout the borough during the morning rush to remind Manhattanites to return their census questionnaires. The effort was coordinated by the Complete Count Committee spearheaded by the office of Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer in hopes of increasing the borough’s return rate from 66 percent in 2000.
