The festival includes tours inside the lighthouse.

Hosted with the Historic House Trust’s Fall Festival, the 20th Anniversary Little Red Lighthouse Festival took place this past Sat., Oct. 6th at Fort Washington Park.

Attendees visit with a turtle.

Celebrating Manhattan’s only remaining lighthouse, which was memorialized as “round and fat and red” and “jolly” in the beloved children’s book “The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge”, the bright crimson beacon again drew hundreds of children and families.

Visitors took in riverbank views of the Hudson.

The festival included tours of the lighthouse; readings of Swift’s book; fishing clinics; live music and theater, and an interactive reptile experience.
