Call for artists for annual HVG show From Nov. 14-22 Hudson View Gardens will host its 11th Annual Art Show. For the two included weekends in November, a select group of artists and crafts workers will display and sell their work in the Lounge Gallery at Hudson View Gardens (W. 183rd St. near Fort Washington Ave.). Artists who live or work in Northern Manhattan (defined as on or above 125th St.) or in the Bronx are encouraged to submit up to three pieces of original work for consideration to three separate categories: ready-to-hang (including paintings, prints, and photographs), free-standing (i.e. sculpture and large ceramics) and tabletops/crafts (jewelry, wearables, small pottery, notecards, etc.). All media is being considered, within these categories, except for performance, video, and installation. Last year, 47 artists were chosen for participation in the 10th annual exhibition, which took place in November, for just one weekend. This year the event will open with a special gala on Sat., Nov. 14, at 7 p.m., and will run through the following weekend. The deadline for submissions is Oct. 9, and selections will be sent on Oct. 26. Additional details and applications are available on the HVG Web site, www.hvgartsgroup.com.
