Undocumented, unafraid and unapologetic.
That was the message students gathered on to steps of the New York City Public Library on 42nd Street and 5th Avenue sent to the entire City this week on Tues., Nov 15th.

Indocumentado, sin miedo y sin complejos.
Ese fue el mensaje de los estudiantes que se reunieron en las escalinatas de la Biblioteca Pública de la ciudad de Nueva York en la Calle 42 y la 5ta Avenida envió a la ciudad completa esta semana el martes, 15 de noviembre. El grupo se reunió para anunciar un voto por la Junta de Regentes para la extensión del Programa de Asistencia de Matrícula del Estado (TAP, por sus siglas en inglés) a todos los estudiantes sin importar su condición migratoria. El cambio hará posible para miles de estudiantes indocumentados en Nueva York poder asistir a la universidad.

Billed as the “National Day of Action” by the organizers of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement, this past Thurs., Nov. 17th marked the two-month anniversary of the establishment of the Zuccotti Park encampment. In that time, the tent and tarp village had become the literal, and symbolic, headquarters of the movement that had spread across the country, and the world, with “Occupy” groups popping up in Seattle, Orlando and Dusseldorf.

Llamado como el “Día Nacional de Acción”, por los organizadores del movimiento ‘Ocupar Wall Street’ (OWS, por sus siglas en inglés), este pasado jueves, 17 de noviembre marcó los dos meses del aniversario del establecimiento del campamento levantado en el Parque Zuccotti. En ese momento, el pueblo de tiendas de campaña y carpas se ha convertido, literal y simbólicamente, en las oficinas centrales del movimiento que se ha extendido por todo el país, y el mundo, con movimiento de “Ocupar” surgiendo en Seattle, Orlando y Dusseldorf.
A 27 year-old resident of northern Manhattan was arrested this past Sat., Nov. 19th on charges of plotting to build and detonate bombs in New York.

If David Gracia has his way, his plans to emulate the Mariuccia Iacovino Symphonic Orchestra that performed at the United Palace Theatre this past Sunday evening, will soon be more than just a passing delight.

The Occupy Wall Street movement continues to expand across the world and our neighborhood is right in the thick of things. Our very own Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez was roughed up and arrested in the wee hours of the morning on November 15th during the raid on Zuccotti Park. Ydanis was finally released after an 18 hour ordeal. Check out our site for videos, pictures and more from this historic moment in American history.
