Neighborhood Blogwatch

Musings from an Interior World: Travel, Home, Fashion, Food and Love.

Some of the best postings of Northern Manhattan can at times be written or photographed by outsiders. In this case, a New Yorker by address and native Iowan features lovely photos from her visit to one of Washington Heights’ museum gems, the Cloisters. Enjoy the placid shots of the Hudson River below and peek at the George Washington Bridge.

The Uncanny

If you live in Northern Manhattan and were in town a couple of weeks ago you know Inwood and Washington Heights were awash in celebratory cheer after the Yankees won their 27th World Series title, marking their first year in the new Yankee Stadium with pride. This non-New Yorker recounts his good friend’s tales of the victory celebrations in Washington Heights. Who is his friend? Well, none other than Ronni Michelen, principal at the High School for Media and Communications at George Washington High School in Washington Heights.

My 2 Cents

Photography and Unsolicited Opinions from Upstate Manhattan

The beauty and dynamic quality of New York City make it a wonderful place to photograph nature, people from all walks of life and art.  My 2 Cents takes advantage of that dynamism, drinking it up through a camera lens and pouring it onto your computer screen. The images are not all Northern Manhattan, or Upstate Manhattan as referenced in the subtitle, but they all have great flavor and vitality. Enjoy.
