Bader When classes start in the fall of 2011, Washington Heights will have a new school building – the Community Health Academy of the Heights. The $38 to $40 million middle and high school, which is focused on the medical professions, will be built nestled into a lot in the open space strapped lower Heights. |

Downsized, Quisqueya Records keeps spinning Latin music by Adam Garrett Clark Back in the days when you couldn’t “burn a disk” without a match and lighter fluid, record stores like Quisqueya Records on Sherman Avenue between Arden and Thayer Streets did good business. They specialized in Latin music – famous and obscure merengue, bachata, salsa and pop – all imported from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. They were specialists, providing access to music you couldn’t easily find in the U.S. |
