October 3 – October 8

We began the week with an ultra exclusive sneak peek at the latest Juan Bago and O video that will be officially released later this month. Speaking of Bago, we posted a recap of the latest Bago Bunch function held at the spacious yet intimate NegroClaro Lounge (3805 tenth Ave – btwn 204th St & Academy) recently. Bago Bunch brunches and mixers have become must-attend networking events for up and coming influencers, tastemakers and media industry professionals. Stay tuned for more awesomeness from the Bago Bunch.

As the Occupy Wall Street protests continue to intensify, a contingent of Uptown folks led by the People’s Theatre Project took a trip downtown to show solidarity for the cause. Uptown Collective diehard, Dj Boy was there to capture the moment and the magic. We also ran another amazing video by Dj Boy of the Latin Grammys Street Party that took place at Inwood Hill Park on Sunday, September 25th.

The Uptown Collective was there to document the delightful trip back into time that is the annual Medieval Festival. We featured an awe-inspiring set of pictures from our very own Briana E. Heard as well as a remarkable video by filmmaker Kadshah Nagibe. Not to be outdone, we also took a second look at the festival courtesy of talented photographer Jay Franco.

Don’t forget that Washington Heights’ own, music producer Frankie P will have his instrumental album available on his website for free as of Monday, October 10th. This is a must have piece of music, get your copy at http://www.awakeinmydreams.com/.

You may have noticed that Uptown Collective has remixed, redesigned and revitalized our site. Besides the aesthetics, which are pretty awesome, we also rolled a few pretty cool upgrades on the site. One to note is the Google translator widget that translates the site into a slew of different languages.  So whether you want to read the site in Spanish, Swedish or Swahili, we got you covered.

As always, keep checking us out at www.uptowncollective.com
