August 29 – September 3
Hometown hero, Irina Falconi, made quite an impression at this year’s U.S. Open. Even though the 23rd seed Sabine Lisicki eventually defeated her, Irina has established herself as one of the fastest rising US players on tour. She has also been part of the resurgence of American female tennis players on the world stage.
On Thursday, September 15th playwright and actress, Jenny Saldaña, will be bringing her powerful and poignant play Pink: The Chronicles of BC Jenny to the Alumni Auditorium at Columbia University Medical Center (650 W. 168th Street). The play is a humorous, emotional and very real window into the life of a woman diagnosed with breast cancer. Jenny is not only a breast cancer survivor herself but has helped countless other women through their personal battles with breast cancer. For more info about this must-see show, email
