While community members continue to distribute fliers with details of last weekend’s first two sexual assaults in Northern Manhattan – and a $2,000 reward has been offered for tips leading to their capture – police have released more details about the third attack, which occurred early in the morning of Sun., June 12.

Police say that at about 1:15 a.m. around W. 184th Street and Broadway, a 32-year-old white woman was followed by a young Hispanic man who attempted to remove her underwear and sexually assault her. The suspect was unsuccessful and fled on foot, according to police.

The suspect is described as between 18 and 25 years of age, 5'7", and of medium build. He was wearing a black shirt with a design, patterned shorts, and a black knit hat with red, yellow, and green stripes.

On Wednesday police released a surveillance video of the alleged suspect taken from what appears to be the north end of the 181st Street A-train station. It shows the suspect having trouble swiping his card at a turnstile and turning to a station agent for help.

Also this week, Crime Stoppers offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of either suspect sought in the first two attacks over the weekend.
