Police say they have arrested the suspect pictured above who sexually assaulted a woman in Washington Heights on Sat., June 11th

Police say they arrested a man on Mon., July 4th in connection with an alleged sexual attack in Washington Heights last month.

Ray Diaz, a 23 year-old resident of Centre Mall in Brooklyn, was charged with sexual assault and robbery, police said.

On Sat., June 11th , a 37-year-old woman entered her apartment building around Bennett Avenue where she was confronted by the suspect who was armed with a knife. The suspect then forced the victim to the eighth floor where he sexually assaulted and robbed her.

The attack was one of three seemingly unrelated sexual assaults that happened in Northern Manhattan during one weekend last month. No arrests in connection to the other attacks have been made.

Diaz, who is reportedly being held on $250,000 bail after his arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court, pled not guilty at his arraignment this past Wednesday, July 6th.
