The proliferation of restaurants and other eateries is a reality in Northern Manhattan. Each month new restaurants open their doors to clients. What’s more, the sector continues to offer employment to local residents. In order to prepare locals for a job in the restaurant industry, the Audubon Partnership for Economic Development periodically offers a certificate course in food handling.
The next course will take place on Monday, August 15th and Tuesday, August 16th from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The food-handling certificate is useful for workers in restaurants, cafeterias, delis, bakeries, bodegas, supermarkets or anywhere else where food is handled.
For legally established food-service business, this course teaches how to earn an “A” Grade designation from the New York City Department of Health as part of its restaurant grading system. The certificate course in food-handling will be offered at Audubon Partnership for Economic Development, 513 West 207th Street—Corner of Post Avenue—New York, New York 10034. For more information, please call 212-544-2400 Ext. 4.
