Classical music group BEOWULF CONSORT has two concerts
and Christmas carol sing-alongs for the holidays.

Sing-along Christmas carols

Classical music group BEOWULF CONSORT will present two Advent Concerts with music sung in English, Spanish, and German, intended for audiences of all ages. The hour-long concerts end with a sing-along of favorite Christmas carols. The performances are: Sun., Dec. 12 at 4pm at Holyrood Church (W. 179th St. and Ft. Washington Ave.) and Sun., Dec. 19 at 4pm at Good Shepherd Church (Isham St. and Broadway). Concerts are free. BEOWULF CONSORT includes singer Hanne Ladefoged-Dollase, harpist José Luis Rodriguez, Frank Foerster violin/viola, and Nelson Padgett at the piano.

 

Great turnout for “Off the Map” holiday market

Scores of shoppers attended the first weekend of the “Off the Map” holiday market last weekend in Inwood where local artists, artisans, and merchants sold one-of-a-kind gifts. The market continues Sat., Dec. 11 from 1:30 to 9 p.m. at Bread and Yoga (4951 Broadway at W. 207th Street on the second floor) and Sat., Dec. 18 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Audubon Partnership (513 W. 207th Street at Post Avenue).

 

Christmas Market at Our Saviour's Atonement/Cornerstone Center

The annual Christmas Market at Our Saviour's Atonement/Cornerstone Center is Sat., Dec. 11 from 11am-3pm, featuring craft and jewelry vendors, and a Christmas tree lot. Cornerstone pottery, baked goods, fair trade coffee, tea, and chocolate, comic books, and many other great holiday gifts will also be available for sale. OSA/Cornerstone Center is located at 178 Bennett Ave. at W. 189th Street.

 

Santa Claus at the Riverside Animal Clinic
