The City Council has released the minutes from the 8-hour closed door executive session of the Committee on Standards and Ethics hearing held on Aug. 4.

The committee examined whether Northern Manhattan Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez inappropriately poked a Council finance staffer just below her neck in the Council's Red Room on June 25.

After the closed-door session, the committee voted in regular session to require Rodriguez to temporarily give up his position as chair of the Higher Education Committee until he completes an employee relations course. Rodriguez denies touching the staffer and vowed to fight the committee's decision, but at another hearing on Aug. 25 a letter from Rodriguez submitted to the committee indicated that he would go along with the recommendation.
